StockPing privacy policy
Last updated 16 October 2026.
StockPing is a Shopify app that sends low-stock alerts. This page explains what data the app stores and why.
What we store
- Store details: your store domain, store name, timezone, currency, and the store owner email address, used to run the app and to send alerts if you keep email on.
- Products and inventory: product and variant names, SKUs, vendors, your locations, and the available quantity of each variant at each location, so the app can tell when stock drops below your thresholds.
- Your settings and activity: thresholds, which variants to watch or ignore, notification channels including a Slack or Discord webhook URL if you add one, and a log of every alert sent.
- Access token: the token Shopify issues so the app can read products, inventory, and locations on your behalf. The app never changes inventory.
What we do not store
StockPing never requests or stores customer data, orders, or payment information. It only asks Shopify for read access to products, inventory, and locations.
Who else sees it
- Hosting: the app and its database run on Fly.io servers.
- Email: alerts are sent through Resend. Only the recipient address and the message text leave the app.
- Slack or Discord: if you add a webhook URL, alert text is posted to it. Nothing else is shared with those services.
We do not sell data and do not use it for advertising.
Retention and deletion
When you uninstall the app, the access token and any Slack or Discord webhook URL are deleted immediately and alerts stop. Your thresholds, notification settings, and inventory copy are kept for 48 hours so a reinstall picks up where you left off, then deleted when Shopify sends the shop data erasure request. You can also ask us to delete everything sooner.
